In late July, Lana released the audiobook version of her first poetry collection, Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass. Overall, Lana has described Chemtrails Over The Country Club as having a Midwestern sound and being folky. вЂњDealerвЂќ may be that song вЂ“ a track in which Lana is вЂњjust screaming my head off.вЂќ ThatвЂ™ll be a different sound for her! She stated that her album doesnвЂ™t quite feel perfect yet, and might need one more defining song. Lana also mentioned вЂњDealerвЂќ вЂ“ which may or may not make the tracklisting.

Nowadays, you get a beautiful melody but you donвЂ™t really know what the person is talking about, or if itвЂ™s even important to them. In the grunge movement, a lot of the lyrics were super abstract, but the melodies and the tonality were such a vibe that you felt like you knew exactly what the singer was thinking. I hate when I hear a song that has a great melody, but I have no idea what theyвЂ™re talking about. What I like about that song is that for all of its weirdness, when you get to the end of it, you understand exactly what itвЂ™s about. One confirmed song is вЂњWhite Dress/Waitress,вЂќ which they wrote early, starting with Jack Antonoff playing piano she calls it the albumвЂ™s вЂњdefining moment.вЂќ She described it further: We know a few additional titles that Lana mentioned during her interview with Jack Antonoff for Interview MagazineвЂ™s September issue. Last summer, Lana also previewed her new song вЂњTulsa Jesus Freak.вЂќ
